Not just a single pickup but a single coil single pickup I'd like to see and hear. I'm sure it's close to when a guitarist switches the guitar to bridge pickup. I see a lot of videos with a pickup like this. Want to see a 1 single coil guitar

I will probably go with a single pickup guitar because I'm making the guitar myself and is to cheap to buy 2 humbucker ( also I will probably be using a dp100 super distortion and there not that cheap )

From a heavy metal perspective, bridge humbucker is what you want anyway. If I want to play some warm fuzzy stuff, I'll grab my acoustic. I'm thinking about filling in the neck humbucker cavity on my latest Ibanez RG Frankenstein build. There is definitely a reason they offer bridge only humbucker guitars. That's where all the bad a$$ resides!

Unless it's a Strat a bridge pickup is usually all I ever use. I find it easier to kick a pedal or play differently to change my tone. I also have pretty large hands and pick heavy. Too many knobs and they are in my way often. I never get mixed up with what knob to go for with one pickup either lol.

I've experimented with lots of different pickups and I will say that the single HB I use sounds as good as any combination I've tried.

I have the same one! I can play nice cleans to Metallica with it. The pickups are great. Frets are a bit sharp. Shouldnt be at this price range!

What I've read from the physics side is that having only one pickup allows it to pickup more harmonic frequencies that would be otherwise dampened by the other magnet. Its a small effect.

I am on a quest for my next Neural DSP plugin. I have had the Soldano SLO-100 plugin for two years and love it. I'm looking for another plugin that has the ability to give me some airy ambiet sounds but also that Progressive Metal edge. I like the Archetype Plini, Petrucci and Mesa Boogie but I can't decide. I write instrumental music so the guitar is my focus but I also incorporate piano and strings.

I don't see how you can say the quality control is perfect when the fretting on these production guitar is at time, really bad. Maybe you didn't get any problem on your end, but i've seen many people displeased, i myself played on many of them and had that issue several times, even on a 3500$ model ( True temperament 6 chord ). I'am not saying these are bad instrument per say, just that when you buy a 2500$ instrument, there shouldn't be any issue, that's just the basic.
